Washington, D.C. — On June 23, Rep. Barry Moore voted in support of H.R. 3564, the Middle Class Borrower Protection Act. This legislation would end the Biden Administration's recent rule that punishes Americans with good credit scores. The rule mandates borrowers with good credit ratings pay higher fees to cover those with poor credit ratings.
"Biden calls this rule 'equitable access to home ownership,' but I'm old fashioned -- I just call it stealing," said Moore. "This socialist rule makes it more challenging for Americans who pay their bills on time to afford a home for their families and incentivizes those with debt not to pay it off. Americans with good credit may see mortgage fee increases of up to $3200 per year to cover for those with poor credit ratings."
