Rep. Barry Moore, a current U.S. Congressman representing Alabama's 2nd district, shared a series of statements on social media this week that reflect his personal beliefs and comments on current national matters.
On April 20, 2025, Moore offered Easter greetings to his followers, posting, "He is Risen! From my family to yours - Happy Easter!" Accompanying his greeting, he included a biblical text, quote, "For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures."
The following day, on April 21, 2025, Moore expressed support for comments made by former President Trump concerning the role of religion in America. In a subsequent post, Moore stated, "President Trump is right - it is time to bring religion back. The United States is and has always been a Christian nation."
Moore then turned his attention to an upcoming presidential visit to Alabama on April 22, 2025. Anticipating the visit by the President for a university event, he noted, "I'm looking forward to welcoming @POTUS back to Alabama where he will be giving the commencement address at the @UofAlabama." Expressing excitement for the occasion, he added, "It will be an honor to have the President back in Alabama, and I'm excited for the students and families who will get to experience this once in a."
Barry Moore has been serving in Congress since 2021, succeeding Martha Roy. Born in Coffee County, Alabama, the 56-year-old congressman graduated from Auburn University with a Bachelor of Science in 1992 and is a resident of Enterprise.
