How many businesses registered across cities in Butler County in week ending Feb. 4?

There were two businesses that registered in cities within Butler County in the week ending Feb. 4, according to the Alabama Secretary of State.

This is unchanged from the week before.

Greenville registered the most businesses in Butler County.

More than 99 percent of Alabama's businesses are considered small, with more than 47 percent of Alabama's employees working for a small business, according to the U.S. Small Business Administration.

A Civic Economics study found $100 spent at a locally-owned business puts $47 back into the local economy while the total is just $13 for non-local businesses.
