One city within Conecuh County had a business register in week ending Jan. 21

There was one business that registered in cities within Conecuh County in the week ending Jan. 21, according to the Alabama Secretary of State.

This is an increase over the week before, when no licenses were issued.

Repton registered the most businesses in Conecuh County.

More than 99 percent of Alabama's businesses are considered small, with more than 47 percent of Alabama's employees working for a small business, according to the U.S. Small Business Administration.

A Civic Economics study found $100 spent at a locally-owned business puts $47 back into the local economy while the total is just $13 for non-local businesses.
