Washington, D.C. — On April 20, 2023, Rep. Barry Moore (AL-02) voted in support of H.R. 734, the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act. This legislation bars biological men from competing in school athletic programs that are for women and girls in compliance with Title IX. This bill ensures that biological females compete against other biological females in women's competitive sports that are funded through Title IX. Title IX was passed over 50 years ago to give women equal access to educational and athletic opportunities.

"Allowing biological males to compete in women's sports and be in women's locker rooms is an insult and a danger to women and girls,” said Moore. “We must not sacrifice the opportunities of women to the whims of a radical, woke agenda. I am proud to join my colleagues in pushing back against Democrats, who want to turn back the clock on women’s and girls’ rights by erasing their educational and athletic opportunities."
