11 businesses registered in cities in Escambia County during December 2022

There were 11 businesses that registered in cities within Escambia County during December 2022, according to the Alabama Secretary of State.

This is 50 percent less than the month before, when 22 businesses were registered.

Flomaton registered the most businesses in Escambia County.

More than 99 percent of Alabama's businesses are considered small, with more than 47 percent of Alabama's employees working for a small business, according to the U.S. Small Business Administration.

A Civic Economics study found $100 spent at a locally-owned business puts $47 back into the local economy while the total is just $13 for non-local businesses.
