Three businesses registered in cities in Covington County in week ending Nov. 26, 2022

There were three businesses that registered in cities within Covington County in the week ending Nov. 26, 2022, according to the Alabama Secretary of State.

This is 25 percent less than the week before, when four businesses were registered.

Andalusia registered the most businesses in Covington County.

More than 99 percent of Alabama's businesses are considered small, with more than 47 percent of Alabama's employees working for a small business, according to the U.S. Small Business Administration.

A Civic Economics study found $100 spent at a locally-owned business puts $47 back into the local economy while the total is just $13 for non-local businesses.
