Eight businesses registered in three cities found within Clarke County during November 2022

There were eight businesses that registered in cities within Clarke County during November 2022, according to the Alabama Secretary of State.

This is 47 percent less than the month before, when 15 businesses were registered.

Grove Hill registered the most businesses in Clarke County.

More than 99 percent of Alabama's businesses are considered small, with more than 47 percent of Alabama's employees working for a small business, according to the U.S. Small Business Administration.

A Civic Economics study found $100 spent at a locally-owned business puts $47 back into the local economy while the total is just $13 for non-local businesses.
