William Alverson | Andalusia Area Chamber of Commerce

Congratulations to William Alverson, who was sworn in Friday morning as Municipal Judge for the City of Andalusia. He replaces Municipal Judge Mike Jones, who resigned to accept a job with the Secretary of State in Montgomery.

The City Council appointed Alverson in a meeting on Friday morning, and Circuit Judge Ben Bowden was on hand to swear him.

Also on hand were other officers of the Municipal Court, as well as members of Alverson's family.

A local native, Alverson earned his juris doctorate at Georgia State University. Since returning home to practice law, he has been very active in the community. He is the current president of the Andalusia Area Chamber of Commerce, and the immediate past president of the Andalusia Rotary Club.

He and his wife, Helen-Anne, have two sons.
