Alabama's community colleges are continuing to buck national trends in enrollment, and that's the top story for the Alabama Community College System in 2022!!

The Alabama Community College System has experienced an increase in enrollment by at least 5% each year since 2020, and this increase comes at a time when community colleges face a decline in enrollment nationwide. The fact that ACCS colleges are increasing while the rest of the nation declines or, at best, remains level is a testament to the good work that is happening on those campuses.

ACCS colleges enrolled approximately 3,305 more students in Fall 2022 than were enrolled in Fall 2021, for a 4.39% increase in student headcount year over year.

Nineteen of Alabama's community colleges had an increase in student headcount over the past year, including some institutions establishing enrollment records. Overall, there has been a 65.48% increase in dually enrolled high school students over the last five years in addition to increases for first-time freshmen and students in enrolled at the HBCUs.

This is something to be extremely proud of as we turn the page to 2023!
