LBW Community College Reports the Highest Enrollment in History This Fall Semester

LBW Community College reports the highest enrollment in history this fall semester.

“Our faculty and staff are to be commended for our recent increase in headcount and registration rate,” said LBW President Dr. Brock Kelley.

“Their dedication and willingness to go above and beyond for their students creates a positive learning environment for every student. We value extracurricular activities and continue to offer more opportunities for campus life.”

LBW has seen a 16% increase in student headcount since the fall of 2020.

“This historic enrollment speaks to the commitment of all our faculty and staff and their role in recruitment,” said Dean of Student Affairs Jason Jessie.

“We are defying national trends of declining enrollment by adopting an all-hands-on-deck approach to reach and assist every possible student.”

According to national data, a report from the National Student Clearinghouse Research Center, ‘First Look Fall 2022 Enrollment,’ shows undergraduate enrollment has continued to decline.

“By offering flexible scheduling and robust course offerings, as well as, identifying and removing barriers, we help our community members in our service area realize economic freedom,” added President Kelley.

The College has had a 32% increase in enrollment since 2003 when Douglas MacArthur State Technical College merged with Lurleen B. Wallace Junior College.

“We believe College is for everyone and LBW is the place where we can help someone tailor their college experience to their needs.”

Spring semester registration is now open, and classes begin on January 9, 2023.
