Blount County: Flash Flooding Caused by Excessive Rainfall is Possible

Flood Watch until 06:00AM Wednesday 

* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.

* WHERE...A portion of central Alabama, including the following counties, Blount, Calhoun, Cherokee, Cleburne, Etowah, Fayette, Jefferson, Lamar, Marion, St. Clair, Walker and Winston.

* WHEN...Through late tonight.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Storm drains and ditches may become clogged with debris. Area creeks and streams are running high and could flood with more heavy rain.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Heavy rainfall of 2 to 4 inches - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

* AFFECTED AREAS: MARION ... LAMAR ... FAYETTE ... WINSTON ... WALKER ... BLOUNT ... ETOWAH ... CALHOUN ... CHEROKEE ... CLEBURNE ... JEFFERSON ... ST. CLAIR
