This group of veterans on Team Red, White & Blue traveled about 100 miles by bicycle and on foot today to bring Old Glory and the to Andalusia as it continues its 3,100 journey from Washington, D.C., through 15 states in 44 days. Their effort showcases the strength, grit and commitment of our nation's veterans.
They received a warm Andalusia welcome when they reached the Covington Veterans Monument, where they were greeted by Andalusia Mayor Earl Johnson, who presented each with a doubloon featuring the monument. Covington Veterans Foundation founder John Vick also presented the group with a print made from a Roger Powell painting of a veteran who made the ultimate sacrifice being returned to Covington County by train.
Thanks to all who showed up to welcome them and showcase our patriotic community.
