Rep. Barry Moore, U.S. Congressman representing Alabama’s 2nd district since 2021, marked several notable anniversaries and shared a Bible verse in a series of recent social media posts.
On December 13, Moore recognized the anniversary of the National Guard with a message of gratitude: “Happy 389th birthday to the U.S. National Guard! I’m grateful today and every day for the men and women I had the honor of serving besides, and those who still do. Thankful for those who have, and continue, to sacrifice so much for our nation.”
The following day, on December 14, he posted a biblical quotation from 1 Peter 3:15: “But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect,” – 1 Peter 3:15
On December 15, Moore commemorated Alabama’s statehood anniversary by writing: “206 years ago today, Alabama became the nations 22nd state. I’m proud to fight every day for the people of this state and to keep Alabama strong, free, and America First. Happy birthday, Alabama!”
Moore has represented Alabama’s 2nd District in Congress since replacing Martha Roy in 2021. Before his current role in Congress, he served in the Alabama House of Representatives from 2010 to 2018. Born in Coffee County in 1966 and currently residing in Enterprise, Moore graduated from Auburn University with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1992.
