Rep. Barry Moore, who represents Alabama’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, used his social media platform this week to mark several commemorative occasions and comment on recent legislative actions.
On September 17, Moore acknowledged Constitution Day by referencing the founding document and its ongoing significance. He posted, “238 years ago, our Founders signed the framework that protects our God-given rights and limits the power of government. Today, we honor their courage and recommit ourselves to defending liberty for future generations. Happy Constitution Day! https://t.co/AHnmNRSkTW”.
The following day, September 18, Moore celebrated the anniversary of the United States Air Force with a message recognizing service members’ contributions both locally and abroad. He wrote, “For 78 years, brave men and women have taken to the skies to defend our nation and protect the freedoms we hold dear. From here in Alabama to missions around the world, their courage and sacrifice remind us what service truly looks like. Happy birthday to the Air Force! https://t.co/QAfNrACSUA”.
On September 19, Moore commented on a House vote concerning a resolution about Charlie Kirk. He stated: “Today, 118 Democrats voted no, present, or skipped the vote on a resolution honoring the life of Charlie Kirk and condemning political violence. Charlie would have welcomed a respectful debate with any of them. They can never again claim to be the party of unity.”
Moore has served as U.S. Representative for Alabama’s 2nd District since 2021 after replacing Martha Roye that year; prior to his current role he was part of Alabama’s House of Representatives from 2010 until 2018. Born in Coffee County in 1966 and now residing in Enterprise at age 56, Moore graduated from Auburn University with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1992.
