Rep. Barry Moore, who has represented Alabama’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress since 2021, recently shared several updates on social media regarding disaster relief for farmers, a key federal appointment, and national policy on taxpayer-funded benefits. Moore, born in Coffee County, Alabama in 1966 and an Auburn University graduate, has previously served in the Alabama House of Representatives from 2010 to 2018.

On July 9, 2025, Moore announced that “Relief is on the way – farmers impacted by disasters in 2023 & 2024 can apply for help starting July 10 through the $16B Supplemental Disaster Relief Program. President Trump and Secretary Rollins continue to deliver for America’s farmers! If you need assistance applying,” highlighting federal efforts to support agricultural communities affected by recent disasters.

Later that day, Moore congratulated a fellow Alabamian on a significant federal appointment. On July 9, he posted: “Congratulations to Wells Griffith on being confirmed as the Under Secretary of Energy! President Trump’s American First energy agenda will be well-served by the Mobile native. South Alabama is proud to have one of our own in such a pivotal position!”

On July 10, Moore commented on national policy regarding public benefits under the current administration: “Under President Trump, taxpayer-funded benefits are for Americans – not illegal immigrants. America First, always!”

Barry Moore currently resides in Enterprise and continues his legislative work representing Alabama’s interests at the federal level.
