Rep. Barry Moore, who represents Alabama’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, has recently addressed several topics on his official social media account, ranging from political criticism to honoring military service and commenting on international agreements.
On August 6, 2025, Moore criticized Texas Democrats for leaving the state to avoid a legislative vote. He wrote, “Fleeing to Illinois to avoid voting is a failure by Texas Democrats to do the job they were elected to do. Texans deserve better.”
The following day, August 7, 2025, Moore marked Purple Heart Day with a message of gratitude directed at recipients of the military decoration. He stated, “Today, on Purple Heart Day, we honor the 1.8 million Purple Heart recipients. Thank you for your bravery, courage, and sacrifice in the face of unimaginable circumstances.”
On August 8, 2025, Moore commented on an international agreement that he described as contributing to regional peace and stability under former President Donald Trump’s leadership. He posted: “This agreement will bring real peace to the region and secure the new ‘Trump Route’ corridor. President Trump’s leadership is ensuring stability across the globe!”
Moore has served in Congress since 2021 after replacing Martha Roy as representative for Alabama’s 2nd district. Prior to his congressional tenure, he was a member of the Alabama House of Representatives from 2010 to 2018. Born in Coffee County in 1966 and currently residing in Enterprise, Moore graduated from Auburn University with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1992.
