Rep. Barry Moore, who represents Alabama’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, used his social media platform to comment on recent government shutdown developments and share a biblical message with his followers.
On November 1, 2025, Moore criticized Democratic lawmakers for their actions during the ongoing government shutdown, stating: “Democrats have voted against reopening the government 14 times causing millions of Americans to lose their SNAP benefits this month. Unlike Democrats, President Trump cares about the American people and is doing everything possible to ensure the American people don’t suffer.”
The following day, Moore posted a religious message quoting scripture: “Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.” – Colossians 3:15 (November 2, 2025).
On November 3, Moore announced an upcoming tele-town hall event in partnership with Americans for Prosperity Alabama (@AFP_Alabama), writing: “TONIGHT: I’m doing a tele-town hall with @AFP_Alabama tonight, November 3, at 6pm central time to answer your questions about the Democrat shutdown. Join us by dialing (866) 495-1092!”
Barry Moore has served in Congress since 2021 after replacing Martha Roy and previously held office in the Alabama House of Representatives from 2010 to 2018. Born in Coffee County in 1966 and currently residing in Enterprise, Alabama, Moore graduated from Auburn University with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1992.
