Rep. Barry Moore, a U.S. Congressman representing Alabama’s 2nd district since 2021, posted a series of statements on his official X account addressing recent legislative actions and political developments.

On November 12, 2025, Moore criticized federal legislation aimed at gun control, writing, “The wrongly named Bipartisan Safer Communities Act was the Biden Administration’s attempt to implement red-flag laws that contradict the Second Amendment. I am proud to stand with @RepWPH to undo the harm this has already done to law abiding citizens.”

The following day, after a prolonged period of halted government operations, Moore commented on the resolution of the shutdown: “After 42 days, the Democrat shutdown is finally over. My statement on Republicans passing a continuing resolution and reopening the government below “ The tweet referenced his support for measures that allowed government functions to resume.

Later that day, Moore continued his criticism of Democratic leadership regarding the government closure. He stated: “Democrats have finally ended the suffering of the American people due to their politically motivated stunt. We now have 38 months to fully implement @POTUS’ America First agenda. It’s time for Congress to get to work!”

Moore’s public service career includes tenure in both state and federal legislatures; he served in the Alabama House of Representatives from 2010 to 2018 before joining Congress in 2021. Born in Coffee County, Alabama in 1966 and currently residing in Enterprise, Moore graduated from Auburn University in 1992 with a Bachelor of Science degree.
