The latest figures reveal a 6.5% rise in in-state tuition fees at Lurleen B Wallace Community College for the 2022-23 school year, according to the latest disclosure from the National Center for Education Statistics.

Alabama residents paid $4,920 to attend the two-year public college this year, an increase of $300 from the $4,620 charged in the 2021-22 academic year.

For non-residents, tuition was 76.2% higher than for residents during the 2022-23 school year, amounting to $8,670. This represents a 4.3% increase from the $8,310 charged in 2021-22.

Approximately 95% of the undergraduate student body at the college are Alabama residents, while about 5% come from other states.

Data indicates that 95% of full-time undergraduates who began their studies at Lurleen B Wallace Community College in 2022-23 received some form of student financial aid. In total, 333 students were awarded grants or scholarships amounting to $2.2 million.
