Rep. Barry Moore, who represents Alabama’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, recently used his social media platform to announce legislative efforts related to abortion drug labeling and to highlight ongoing Republican initiatives on healthcare costs.
On November 7, 2025, Moore posted about a new bill he is sponsoring, stating: “My bill would deem abortion drugs ‘misbranded’ unless their label clearly identifies both the name and address of the dispenser and the name of the prescriber, preempting state laws and ensuring all abortion-inducing drugs are held to the same national safety standards.” The proposed legislation aims to standardize safety requirements for abortion-inducing drugs at a national level.
Later that day, Moore acknowledged several colleagues for their support of his bill. He wrote: “Thank you to cosponsors: @RepHageman, @RepMaryMiller, @RepJohnMcGuire, @RepAndyHarrisMD, @USRepGaryPalmer, @Rep_Clyde, and @RepPfluger” on November 7.
The following day, Moore commented on broader party priorities regarding healthcare costs. On November 8, he posted: “Republicans will continue to stand with @POTUS to lower healthcare costs for American families!”
Moore has served in Congress since 2021 after replacing Martha Roy as representative for Alabama’s 2nd district. Before joining Congress, he was a member of the Alabama House of Representatives from 2010 to 2018. Born in Coffee County in 1966 and currently residing in Enterprise, Moore graduated from Auburn University in 1992 with a Bachelor of Science degree.
