U.S. Representative Barry Moore, who serves Alabama’s 2nd district in Congress, posted a series of tweets from October 17 to October 19, 2025, criticizing Democratic lawmakers over the ongoing government shutdown and sharing a religious message.
On October 17, Moore addressed Democratic leadership in Congress: “Maybe Democrats should listen to their own speeches about ‘No Kings’ and vote to open the government and stop hurting American families instead of bowing to King Schumer and the radicals in their party.”
The following day, on October 18, he continued his criticism regarding the government shutdown and military pay: “President Trump ensured our active duty military receive their pay during the Democrat shutdown. Meanwhile, Democrats are keeping the government shut down because they care more about illegals getting healthcare than the American people. Democrats are the party of America Last.”
On October 19, Moore shared a Bible verse: “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,” – 1 Peter 1:3
Barry Moore has represented Alabama’s 2nd District in Congress since 2021 after replacing Martha Roy. Before his tenure in Congress, he served in the Alabama House of Representatives from 2010 to 2018. Born in Coffee County, Alabama in 1966, Moore currently resides in Enterprise and is an Auburn University graduate with a Bachelor of Science degree earned in 1992.
