Rep. Barry Moore, a U.S. Congressman representing Alabama’s 2nd district, posted a series of statements on his social media accounts in mid-July 2025 addressing taxpayer policy, women’s sports, and international trade proposals.

On July 14, Moore called for legislative action to reduce government spending, stating: “Defend the Taxpayers. Pass the Rescissions.”

The following day, July 15, Moore commented on the issue of transgender athletes in school sports and federal funding. He wrote: “If a school wants to let biological men compete in girls’ sports, they can do it without our tax dollars.

Proud to join @RepAndyBarr in backing President Trump’s push to protect women’s sports and restore sanity.”

Later that same day, Moore addressed Ireland’s proposed ban on products from Judea and Samaria. He stated: “Ireland’s proposal to ban products made in Judea and Samaria wrongfully targets Israel and hurts American businesses.

I ask that @dfatirl rescind this radical proposal immediately!”

Moore has represented Alabama’s 2nd District in Congress since 2021 after succeeding Martha Roy. Before serving at the federal level, he was a member of the Alabama House of Representatives from 2010 to 2018. Born in Coffee County in 1966 and currently residing in Enterprise, Moore earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Auburn University in 1992.
